What Wayland Academy is all about
Wayland Academy is a coeducational school serving grades 9-12 since 1855 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Wayland’s small population of 200 students and 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio provide intimate classes and outstanding guidance and teaching. The school features an elite writing program, an ELL program for non-native English speakers, and 15 Advanced Placement (AP) classes for students eager to earn early college credit. Wayland also offers 18 competitive sports, a theater and music program, and a wide variety of extracurricular activities such as special weekend events, performances, and activities in nearby Madison and Milwaukee.
Student life on Wayland’s campus is vibrant, friendly, and exciting. Young alumni continuously report that graduating and saying goodbye to Wayland is difficult, but college is easy due to the academic preparation and life skills they learned at Wayland. It is the ideal setting for college preparation and for making lifelong friends in a small community.
