What Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality is all about
For over 40 years the SSTH Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality has prepared young people for their professional career, with a particular focus on hospitality, gastronomy and management.

SSTH is unique in that the school has two parallel divisions on campus, studying in either the English or the German language. Undergraduate programs lead to a Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality Management. Our academic co-operations allow students to complete part of their degree program with university partners in the United States, Scotland, or Germany. SSTH also offers high quality post graduate programs for suitable applicants.

Tourism and hospitality is the world's fastest-growing job-creating industry. Our programs, at all educational levels, have a strong leaning towards hands-on experience at the beginning, to support management skills developed in subsequent semesters. SSTH graduates have all the required skills to successfully start, a top quality international hospitality management career.

The perfect location, right in the middle of the Alps, but also close to a major city, makes study very enjoyable. The campus hosts students from over 40 different countries, making it a crossroads of many cultures, languages and interests. Life-time friendships are formed which reach out all over the world. We set a high value on our learning environment, involving a combination of trust, respect and style.

About this program:
At the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality, which was founded in 1966, a perfect learning environment has been created to offer hospitality management programs. Hospitality management cannot be taught in theory alone; practical experience is necessary to get to know the business and to be successful in a competitive market. Our education programs are based on decision-making and responsibility, which refers to work and business related situations. Concrete daily exercises are the foundation of the education content and goals. Multi-talented faculty, with a strong link to the working environment, impart not only the learning content but also personal experience. The knowledge base is taught in a blend of theoretical classes, practical training, hands-on work and self-study. The improvement of the important areas in both operational and managerial competencies is continuously evaluated. Final qualifications are gained through various target oriented exercises, projects and group work, together with examinations.

Our Location

.The Swiss School head office is located in Chur, the capital of the canton, or state, of Graubünden. Graubünden itself has a long tradition when it comes to hospitality and tourism. It is the home of world-famous resort areas such as St. Moritz, Davos and Klosters, and Graubünden has been named “the holiday corner of Switzerland”. For those of you who remember a famous children’s story about a young Swiss girl called Heidi, you will find her home in the small area ‘Heidiland’, just around the corner from Chur.

Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland- first settled 5000 years ago. Located about 120 kilometres from Zurich, Chur is easy and quick to reach as it is on both the mainline railway and the motorway system. Where better to study hospitality and tourism management than in the place where it all began!
The school hotel where you will live and study is approximately 10 minutes outside of Chur, in a village called Passugg, with spectacular views to Chur itself and the surrounding mountains. With public transport you easily reach down town and also nearby holiday resorts for all kinds of sport and relaxation opportunities.
