About this program: Located in the historic Dexter Hall in downtown Austin, TIEP has helped more than 30,000 students and professionals from 127 countries to achieve their goals since 1965. The program accepts people who are 17 years of age or older (except for customized group programs). TOEFL is not required for admission. TIEP is authorized under Federal law to issue Form I-20 to nonimmigrant students. TIEP offers three full-time programs of intensive English study year-round, as well as custom-designed programs for groups and individuals. TIEP also offers afternoon elective classes and an Evening Program for individuals who live and work in the Austin area. University Express, a unique intensive course, is a comprehensive, accelerated, and individualized university-preparation program which includes intensive English study at TIEP. TIEP is a nonprofit educational organization and is a division of the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC). TIEC is an independent, self-funded, non-profit corporation which delivers a full range of services by utilizing the extensive resource base of 32 public universities in the State of Texas along with other institutions in the United States.
